Recruitment of volunteer race officials open for the 2015 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

9 March 2015, Singapore – Race promoter Singapore GP Pte Ltd invites members of the public to sign up as a volunteer race official for the 2015 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX. 200 positions are now available in key trackside functions, including observers, track marshals, flag marshals, fire marshals, paddock marshals as well as the medical team. 

Now in its eighth year, the FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX is one of the most prestigious and highly anticipated sporting and entertainment events in the Asian calendar, featuring a weekend of thrilling on-track action by Formula One™ and support race Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, on top of star-studded headlining performances.

First-time race officials will attend approximately seven days of theory and practical training, conducted over weekends starting in May 2015. Highlights of the hands-on training include performing recovery and extrication exercises on a Formula BMW open-wheeler and a Subaru WRX. Senior officials will also undergo specialist hands-on training in fire safety and track recovery. Depending on the area of responsibility, each marshal can expect to clock a minimum of 32 hours of training. 

Members of the public interested to volunteer as a marshal will need to be 18 years and above, be physically fit, and should preferably have a passion for motorsports. Volunteers will also need to commit to all scheduled training sessions and be available to participate in all days from 17 to 20 September. Registration opens 9 March 2015 at 11am. Successful candidates will be notified by 30 April. Applications must be submitted via Singapore GP’s race official recruitment website https://raceofficials.singaporegp.sg by 30 March (11.59pm, Singapore time).
