Three award-winning acts to perform in Zone 1 of the 2014 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

PET SHOP BOYS (SAT, 20 SEPT – ZONE 1)
Kicking off the weekend is UK’s most successful music duo and three-time Brit Award winner Pet Shop Boys, who are slated to enthral audiences before the start of the Formula One™ qualifying session on Saturday, 20 September.

Having sold more than 50 million records worldwide, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe’s energetic electropop sound, avant-garde costumes and fervent fan base will transform the Circuit Park into an electrifying pre-race party. 

With 42 Top 30 singles and 22 Top 10 hits in the UK charts since 1985, the English pop duo were awarded a Brit Award in 2009 for Outstanding Contribution to Music and more recently picked up a Q Outstanding Contribution To Music award by Q Magazine. The pair behind 80s’ classics “West End Girls”, “Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money)”, “Always On My Mind” and their cover of the 70’s anthem “Go West” released their twelfth studio album, Electric, in 2013 which debuted at number three on the UK Albums chart.

33 years after Pet Shop Boys were formed, the synth-pop pioneers still continue to push the envelope and with their Electric Tour, fans can expect an energetic set complete with mesmerising video projections, elaborate costumes and a slew of electronic dance hits at their performance at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

ZIGGY MARLEY (SAT, 20 SEPT – ZONE 1 & SUN, 21 SEPT – ZONE 4)

Six-time Grammy winner and Emmy winner Ziggy Marley will perform in Zones 1 and 4 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit this September. 

Fresh from winning Best Reggae Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards, Ziggy Marley will mark his debut performance in Singapore at the seventh edition of the night race.

Born David Nesta Marley, the eldest son of the legendary Bob Marley will perform after the on-track action at the Village Stage on Saturday, 20 September and before the Formula One™ race on Sunday, 21 September at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre Stage.

"I am looking forward to my first trip to Singapore, getting to know the people, the culture and sharing our music,” said Ziggy Marley, who is currently on tour in support of his fifth solo studio album, Fly Rasta.

Marley’s infectious reggae beats has amassed a total of six Grammy Awards, three of which as a solo artist and three with The Melody Makers, a group formed with his brother Stephen and sisters Sharon and Cedella. Fans of the Jamaican can expect to hear his hit single “Tomorrow People”, as well as “True to Myself”, “Love Is My Religion”, “Fly Rasta”, “I Don’t Wanna Live on Mars” and “Wild and Free”. Sunday’s performance at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre Stage is accessible to all three-day ticketholders, Sunday single-day Pit Grandstand special ticketholders and the Sunday Zone 4 Walkabout ticketholders. 

JOHN LEGEND (SUN, 21 SEPT – ZONE 1) 
Nine-time Grammy Award winner John Legend will bring his blend of R&B and soul to the Formula One™ night race on Sunday, 21 September. The velvety voice behind the 2014 instant classic “All Of Me” – dedicated to his wife, supermodel Chrissy Teigen – will serenade fans over at the Village Stage in Zone 1.

Since he signed on to hip-hop recording artist and record producer Kanye West’s label G.O.O.D Music a decade ago, Legend won his first set of Grammy Awards in 2006 with Best R&B Album for the critically acclaimed Get Lifted, Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for his single “Ordinary People” and Best New Artist. The American has also been nominated one of People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2009.

The singer-songwriter’s brand of sexy, soulful music has produced hits such as “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)” featuring Ludacris, “Save Room” and 2008 club staple “Green Light”, a collaboration with André 3000 of Outkast. Legend’s latest album, Love in the Future, debuted at number four in the Billboard 200 chart and was nominated for Best R&B album at the 2014 Grammy Awards.
