Esteban Ocon in Singapore:
2016 Manor: qualified 21st, finished 18th
Esteban Ocon is a highly rated up-and-coming Formula One driver from France. He won the 2014 FIA European Formula 3 championship – ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen – and the 2015 GP3 title.
Ocon is backed by Mercedes and has also test for Renault and Force India. He made his Formula One debut for Manor halfway through the 2016 season in place of Rio Haryanto.
The 20-year-old performed well against fellow Mercedes junior driver Pascal Wehrlein and put in an eye-catching performance in torrential conditions at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
After impressing both Mercedes and Force India, the Silverstone-based squad snapped him up for a full-time drive in 2017.
