Singapore GP Announces Michelin Celebrity Chef for the 2010 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX Paddock Club

03 September 2010 – Singapore GP will be presenting a special treat for Paddock Club patrons to complete the experience of watching the only FORMULA ONE night race in trackside luxury. From 24 to 26 September 2010, award-winning celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and a team of chefs from his U.S. and international restaurants will be serving an array of five-star international cuisine in a dedicated lifestyle area which is accessible to all Paddock Club guests. This is in addition to the free-flow of premium wines, signature cocktails and extensive dining options available in the individual Paddock Club suites.

Jean-Georges Vongerichten is no stranger to the world of fine-dining and regularly evokes bursts of euphoric sentiments such as “His food took my breath away” from food critics and devoted fans across the world. With a global empire of award-winning restaurants under his belt, Chef Jean-Georges has entertained numerous luminaries including New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and former U.S. President Bill Clinton.

Applauded as a pioneer of modern cooking, one of his many notable establishments includes the Jean Georges restaurant, which has been awarded three stars by the Michelin Guide and four stars by the New York Times. Some of Jean-Georges’ innovative creations which will be served at the 2010 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX include: Rice Cracker Crusted Tuna with Citrus – Sriracha Emulsion; Black Truffle and Fontina Cheese Pizza: Organic Egg Yolk, Caviar and Dill: Foie Gras Brulee, Pistachio and Pickled Dried Cherries as well as Warm Vahlrona Chocolate Cake served with Vanilla Ice Cream.

“Last year’s celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa received rave reviews amongst our Paddock Club patrons, and we were encouraged to introduce thereafter only the most pre-eminent chefs who could devise menus befitting an elite group of discerning customers,” said Colin Syn, Deputy Chairman, Singapore GP. “We are thrilled to be working with Jean-Georges this year and are confident that his Michelin touch will gratify the most punctilious taste-buds.”

To ensure a consistently first-rate hospitality experience, local chefs will be working alongside Chef Jean-Georges and will be travelling to New York to train in his award-winning restaurants. In addition, Jean-Georges will travel to Singapore with a culinary and service team to oversee the execution of dishes from his various restaurant concepts, which include Spice Market, J&G Steakhouse, Mercer Kitchen and Market.
